The new DoubleTree by Hilton Montreal Airport Hotel in Dorval is officially open for business and it sparkles with class and beauty. Located just minutes from Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, this is part of Quint Hotels.

The formal inauguration took place last Thursday evening Oct. 11 as more than 300 guests enjoyed music, food, words of welcome, tours, even the skills of an acrobat. Dorval Mayor Edgar Rouleau was among the dignitaries on hand.

A multi-million dollar, 18-month transition period was carved out in order to undertake a complete facelift. The number of rooms were reduced from 173 to 169 in order to add a new section for the lobby, front desk, a grab-and-go market and a bar. There is a very welcoming connectivity centre in the immediate area as well, equipped with computers, printers and a long working desk.

Check-in, of course, comes with the signature DoubleTree by Hilton chocolate chip cookie. Guest rooms have king- or two queen beds. Amenities include complimentary WiFi and a 55-inch HD television. All rooms feature modern bathrooms with frameless mirrors boasting integral lighting. Roll-in showers are featured in almost every room, while some with two queen beds have bathtubs to accommodate families. Studio suites feature a kitchen area with wet-bar and microwave. Here you can enjoy more space to relax, eat and unwind, with a dining table for two and a sectional sofa-sleeper.

Accessible rooms offer more space, with common spaces allowing a 360-degree turn for easy wheelchair access. All accessible rooms feature a roll-in shower with integrated folding bench, lowered light switches, adjustable bathroom vanity and light strobe in case of alarms.

The hotel has a heated pool with lounge chairs, an exceptionally nice fitness centre and plenty of meeting space for conferences. This includes a complete boardroom as well as meeting and banquet rooms, which can expand via sliding walls to accommodate as many as 150 people, complete with catering.

The lobby bar is the ideal place for a cocktail and quick bite, as well as for catching a sports game after a long day of work. The Semaphore Restaurant is open every day for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast options include à la carte, continental and a complete buffet. The restaurant has already become a popular dining spot for Montrealers drawn by its extensive menu. It  also represents a terrific option to dine prior to picking someone up at the airport.

While Carlucci was providing The Suburban with a personal tour, one person near the front desk was overheard referring to the property as a “Rolls-Royce of DoubleTrees.” Meanwhile, a gentleman who manages a Hilton property in Upstate New York was checking out and telling the staff how completely impressed he was with the experience.
